We have few weeks before end of year 2006. I’m sure there won’t be as many people going to fishing like high seasons now. In this off season, I’d barely have one off course, is perfect timing to focus on each and various developments in our garage. I’ll go through some of the new comers, as well as tune ups for next season and share with you latest top secrets.

Let me start off with JAVALLON HARD which was exposed in last month’s LURE MAGAZINE. Imposition of Martial Laws? IMKATSU spent time and effort in its development and finally made an announcement. More details are in LURE MAGAZINE and next Monday’s Lure News but, this is the final card or ultimate revolution in jointed big baits, most No.1 wanted ever we seen. We’ll upload its footage soon so please wait and see it with your eyes. Official release is due early March next year but we may be able to release a few just before Fishing Show in Feb.

Behind the scene of debut in SPIDER, we’re in development in top secrets <some says it’s killed in early stage?> but, we have hard bait designs as well. We’d most likely go with the soft material frog type materials with key features like SPIDER, Rubber Wings in Oval shape designed imitating wriggle actions on the surface as if frog? Mouse? Some sort of top water baits. Usage image is more close to floating rubber jig breaking through the covers like floating bug. Currently we’re looking at echo friendly material of tungsten weight.

This is also looking at its official release in April but, we may release few just before the Fishing Show. First ever in business, interesting to see its unique color of Clear Green Pumpkin Pepper and Cinnamon Pepper colors.
With the flows of SPIDER and Thunderbird JIRAIYA <tentative>, another bug line is ABE YANMA as ABE Flying Dragon. Its release date is nearly fixed in early next year.

Over past 3 years of TOP 50 Tournaments of bug battles in Lake Nojiri brought twice on podium, this is the expose of the secrets lure of Shingo Abe competing against “Aibarson”. We’d been developing JIRAIYA and ABE YANMA with him and finally seeing the final shape of its body designs. Appears as if dragonfly larva trailer, you’d never know its secret features within. We’ll share more details just before its release timing but, I can tell you this is not a simple imitation of bug like shape. Don’t you ever copy it unless you see its effects!!

And JAVA STICK is also making progress and it’ll soon be in final process of production. Starting off with the “top weight recording in Lake Hibara [3inch JAVA STICK] is looking at early next year. Following up with 4 and 5inches, you’ll see these in your stores. Off course original actions of JAVALLON are there in JAVA STICK by full body action and a impact in swimming. 3inches size is perfect for right rubber jig trailers too.

On the other hands, Berkley’s new release of year 2007 starts off with [Butterfly Craw]. I’d had many obligations this year. Lately 4.5inches is released and we’re looking at 3inch version nearly completed. Great performances in Craw soft baits in punch rig style or trailers of rubber rigs, I strongly recommend to use it like Javallon like heavy Texas rig in next Prespawn season. Don’t you forget that great potential of Butterfly Craw is in its swimming styles. It’s the reason of the size and to be honest, I want bigger size. With no sinker style, I hope you can use it like [Honey toad] or, put rubber jig if you’d have troubles in skipping techniques. Amazing cast ability you can gain for sure.

This is not completely new but we have various new lineups this winter. We are looking at renewal in JAVALLON 140 as minor change. We have real paint version as scaling models. 1st lineup is an enemy of spawning mama! [Carp] series. The real series are bit complexes in mass production so there might be short runs… be aware of its release announcement.

Crank bait IK-400 also is looking at new models in ’07 with flashing effects of willow leaf brads of spinner baits called [Water Imp or Kappa flashing models. On its back, we have flashing plate like willow leaf brads, looking at it in bottom knockings; it acts like slow retrieving of spinner baits. This is a new concept approach in business especially for clear lake usage, appealing both visual and water undulations.

Next I’ll show you the new waves in Imakatsu garage the ultimate tune-ups of AE74 reel. Tell you the truth, this particular hand made new low crutch made of Aluminum was given by one of the fans in TOP 50 tournaments. Indeed I’d really like it so badly.

AE74 is already tuned up for low position in its crutch but this makes even lower allowing much tighter grip in each castings with high accuracy. And surprisingly moment FUJI saw it, he picked up router and made his ZPI crutch into super low original FUJI crutch! Amazingly this feels as much as great ever. Off course no plan of release and I strongly recommend for those who’re keen with one’s hands.

If it gets this much far, I know it’s truly a maniac world but, such slight difference makes huge in tournaments. An excitements of tune-ups in off seasons brings happy moment in Spring, this is one of the fun of bass fishing world. And last but not least, I’ll show you the “one off” turn ups which all Imakatsu staff agreed is the “natural Clam Shell Tune-ups”.

Clam shell versions of Super Sledge and FUJIN SPIDER are in fact the best tournament weapons. We used JAVA HARD/Clam shell version, Super Sledge, Buzz Bill Magnum as secret weapons in Elite 5. Off course natural clam shell is so expensive and attaching it’s a pain. Considering mass productions, it’s impossible to achieve the quality within possible price point. Though I feel the natural glares of natural clam shell does have certain appeal to the target. Fly fishing expert Fuji says, [ it changes its look by angles ] he made all of his Spiders into clam shell version. It’s a pain to tune up and too expensive but you can able to buy the clam shell sheet anywhere in shops. If you have time in this winter, perhaps you wan to try to tune up your won Clam Shell version.
